Dukkah – Egyptian nut and spice blend
House blend
Crunchy Egyptian blend with dried fruits, sesame and roasted spices.
A word from the creator:
Each blend I create is the fruit of a labor of balance, tasting, and passion for spices. I blend them like one composes a recipe, with the desire to transmit accurate, accessible, and sincere flavors, so that everyone can travel in the kitchen, simply, every day.
This blend is designed to be shared, sprinkled, or simply enjoyed, to add crunch, richness, and depth to everyday dishes.
Ingredients :
Pistachios, almonds, hazelnuts, sesame, cumin, fleur de sel, coriander, spices, and a lot of love…
Dukkah is a blend of Egyptian origin, halfway between a condiment and a spice powder. Its name literally means "to crush," referring to the traditional gesture of grinding together nuts, seeds, and spices.
My homemade Dukkah is prepared using traditional methods: gentle roasting of dried fruits, controlled grinding to preserve crunchiness, and aromatic balance between roundness, warmth, and toasted notes.
It's a versatile, textured, and incredibly addictive blend. A simple pinch is enough to transform a dish!
In cooking, spices and seeds play an essential role: they add relief, depth, and that little extra soul that makes all the difference. Dukkah is the perfect example of a blend where each ingredient reveals the other.
Pairings:
Dukkah is a blend as flavorful as it is versatile. You can use it:
As an appetizer: traditionally with warm bread dipped in olive oil, then in Dukkah — simple and irresistible.
On roasted vegetables: squash, carrots, sweet potatoes, cauliflower, eggplant… it adds texture and flavor.
As a finishing touch: on salads, hummus, falafel, soups, spreads, poached or scrambled eggs.
With white meats and fish: as a light crust or sprinkled just before serving.
In vegetarian cuisine: perfect for boosting a lentil dish, a chickpea puree, or a Buddha bowl.
On cheeses: feta, fresh goat cheese, labneh… a magical pairing.
Tip: add it at the last moment to preserve all its crunchiness and aromatic freshness.
Usage tip:
Preferably use at the end of cooking or raw, to preserve the crunchiness and aromatic intensity of the blend.
Allergens:
Contains: tree nuts (almond, hazelnut, pistachio), sesame.
May contain traces of other tree nuts.
