Oatmeal Cookies

Cookies aux flocons d’avoine

Discover the "oatmeal cookie" recipe to prepare in advance in a jar to simplify your life when a sweet craving strikes!

Author's note:
"Today, I'm sharing my "cookies in a jar" recipe!
I always prepare a few jars in advance with all the dry ingredients. When a sudden cookie craving hits, all I have to do is add an egg and 125g of butter, and in the blink of an eye, it's done.

These jars also have the advantage of being very aesthetic. They beautifully decorate the kitchen and also make excellent gifts for loved ones.

Let's get started!

Ingredients

For about 25 cookies:

  • 250g flour

  • 100g rolled oats

  • 100g cane sugar (or white sugar)

  • 100g muscovado sugar (or light brown sugar)

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 125g chocolate chips of your choice

  • 100g dried fruit or nuts of your choice

  • 1 egg

  • 125g butter

The recipe

Pour the dry ingredients into a mixing bowl and mix.

Add the beaten egg. Incorporate the softened butter and mix by hand until a homogeneous and compact dough is obtained.

Form golf ball-sized dough balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake for 12 minutes in an oven preheated to 180°C.

When they come out of the oven, lightly sprinkle the cookies with a pinch of sea salt, then let them cool on a wire rack.

You can store these cookies in an airtight container for several days... if you can resist eating them all before then!
